About Recruiting Is Hell
Mission
Recruiting Is Hell is an anonymous, moderated archive of hiring stories. It exists to show the human cost of broken recruitment processes and help candidates feel less alone. We collect stories, publish practical resources, and document problematic job postings.
Principles
Anonymous by default. No account required.
Moderated before publication. Every submission is reviewed.
No personal names. We document systems, not target individuals.
Company names allowed when the story is factual and moderated.
Sensitive stories anonymised. Health, discrimination, immigration, legal matters.
No doxxing, no threats, no insults, no unsubstantiated criminal accusations.
Origin
This project was born after a hiring process made us realise how little space candidates have to describe what these experiences actually do to them. Recruitment is discussed from the company side: funnels, pipelines, conversion rates, time-to-hire. This site exists for the other side.
